Last month MESURA team carried out an inspirational trip to the area of Girona. The goal of the trip was to monitor the different works we were involved in and to visit some places of architectural relevance.
The region of Girona is not only known by offering incredibly different landscapes like the Costa Brava, scenic inland villages and mountainous areas, but also for its rich gastronomy and inspirational architecture.
We started with the visit of the Athletic stadium Tussols-Basil from RCR office. There, we could observe the perfect symbiosis reached between sport spaces and nature.
Afterwards, we visited one pavilion of the stadium, localized in the nature reserve of Fageda d’en Jordà, a beech forest of exceptional beauty, with wet climate and good temperature.
Next, we visited two works in process, designed by our Studio. On the one hand, the expansion of a home sited in Sant Mori and on the other hand the restoration of another home in Bàscara.
In Sant Morí we could analyze in situ the change from a drawing to a real construction as it’s in the final part of its development. We could observe the solutions applied to some errors which had appeared during the building process.
Secondly, the reform work in Bàscara is still in the initial phase and our visit served to strengthen some ideas and clear up doubts with a last brainstorming of opinions from the whole team before the construction works start.
This last visit was reserved to one of our last finished projects: the Castle of Peratallada. We all got the best out of the beauty of the castle and the village which surrounds it. We had the opportunity to visit for the first time the inside of the castle in order to plan the second phase of the project.
